~ / about

There's a lot going on here.

I'm a designer, artist, maker, and someone who has a really hard time leaving things alone when I know it could work better.

I've worked across UX design, software development, and IT, and somewhere in between all of that, I've spent a ridiculous amount of time making art, experimenting with 3D printing, building things, and figuring out how stuff works.

I don't really separate the creative side of my brain from the technical side. To me, they're part of the same process. I get curious about something, start pulling at the thread, and see where it takes me.

My Professional Background

A career in more than one direction

My career hasn't followed one straight line, and I wouldn't have it any other way.

I've worked across UX design, financial technology, software development, IT operations, and creative technology. That experience has given me the opportunity to approach products from multiple perspectives, whether I'm researching how people interact with a system, designing an interface, working with developers, or troubleshooting the technology behind it.

HazAdapt

Lead UX Designer

At HazAdapt, I've led UX design efforts across emergency preparedness and public safety products, including ResiliencePoint, LoCo, and Prep Checks.

My work has included user research, usability testing, accessibility improvements, interface design, design systems, developer collaboration, and product QA.

A significant part of that work has involved making emergency information and preparedness tools more accessible, understandable, and useful to the people who rely on them.

Pentagon Federal Credit Union

Creative Technologist

At PenFed, I worked on digital experiences involving Salesforce, React, React Native, and front-end development.

My responsibilities included translating designs into functional interfaces, collaborating on the transition from .NET to Salesforce, and working across mobile and web experiences.

JPMorgan Chase

UX Designer

At Chase, I worked within Legal & Regulatory Control Operations, designing internal experiences supporting operational workflows.

The work involved understanding existing processes and improving how employees interacted with internal systems.

True Link Financial

UX Designer

At True Link, I worked on experiences supporting trust administrators and beneficiaries.

My projects included improvements to beneficiary information and disbursement workflows, informed by stakeholder collaboration and user research.

Move HQ

User Experience Designer

At Move HQ, I worked on user experiences supporting military families through the relocation process.

My work focused on improving digital workflows and making the experience easier to navigate for the families using the platform.

Operation Code

UX Designer & Evangelist

At Operation Code, I volunteered as a UX designer and community evangelist, supporting veterans and military spouses transitioning into careers in technology.

My work included UX design, community engagement, and helping people navigate educational and professional opportunities.

I also contributed to growing the community from approximately 400 to 800 members through outreach and engagement, while supporting efforts to connect veterans and their families with educational benefits and scholarships.

Expedient

Associate Analyst

At Expedient, my work has expanded further into IT operations and technical support.

This experience has given me additional exposure to the operational side of technology, troubleshooting, internal systems, and the challenges people face when using technical tools.

How I Approach My Work

Serious work, not a serious process

I take my work seriously, but I don't think everything about the process needs to be serious.

I like experimenting, making weird things, asking questions, and working with people who aren't afraid to bring their personalities into what they do.

Accessibility, inclusion, and trauma-informed design matter to me.

A big part of my approach to design is thinking about the people who are often overlooked or forgotten. Accessibility, inclusion, and trauma-informed design matter to me, and I want those considerations to be part of the process, not something addressed at the end.

My background in both design and technology also means I'm comfortable looking beyond the interface itself. I want to understand how something works, why it works that way, and whether there's a better approach.

Beyond the Screen

What I make when no one's asking

Outside of UX and software, I spend a lot of time working with 3D printers, creating art, experimenting with different materials, and learning new techniques.

I've been involved in 3D printing for around eight years, working with both resin and FDM machines. My projects range from artistic pieces and cosplay props to experimenting with fabrication techniques, troubleshooting machines, and sharing what I've learned through content creation.

I also work with illustration, 3D modeling, and digital art.

I enjoy understanding how things are made, whether that's a digital experience, a physical object, or a machine I'm trying to get working again.

Usually, I'm making something, fixing something, learning something, or getting myself into a project that seemed a lot simpler when I started.
